BERLIN — Fashion archaeologists say a Berlin bunker held “the most disturbing denim collection in history”: Hitler’s premium label, “Mein Kampf Jeans.” Sealed crates contained 200 pairs stamped “Superior Fit for the Master Race,” plus sketches, ad copy, and store plans. One pocket was sized for a red armband. Another feature promised reinforced knees for wholesome goose-stepping. Recovered memos show the dictator plotting a post-war fashion empire. “He believed superior denim would secure Reich dominance,” said historian Dr. Klaus Weber. Drafts teased “Blitzkrieg Blue” for spring and “Lebensraum Light Wash” for summer, with a Paris flagship offering “Vichy Vintage.” Lead archaeologist Dr. Ingrid Schneider called the trove “deeply unsettling yet impeccably tailored.” A veteran buyer shuddered: “It’s like discovering history’s worst man was also great at pants.” Prototypes included “Hitler Youth Dungarees,” “Der Führer’s Farmer Collection,” and letters wooing celebrity endorsers with “Aryan comfort wear.” Germany will seal the archive. “Some trends shouldn’t resurface,” said Chancellor Weber, as the bunker becomes a warning against totalitarian couture.
